SOLUTION

Conducted senior team diagnosis through team meeting observations, interviews, and surveys. Analysis revealed that the team had a strong focus on execution. However, ineffective interpersonal dynamics and team processes were impeding team performance. Shared findings from the diagnosis with the CTO in advance and coached on communicating sensitive results to the leadership team. Recommended interventions to improve team effectiveness.

• Coaching the CTO enabled him to create a sense of shared ownership for team performance
• Enabled the team to surface and discuss deep-seated interpersonal issues
• Gained team commitment to participate in an off-site intervention to promote team effectiveness
